Our final day was spent having breakfast at 100 Montatidoes, lunch in the Mercado San Miguel, dinner at Casa Lucas, and just chilling out. We are sad to leave Europe and are already planning our next trip!!! But, I am looking forward to coming home and being with family, friends, and familiar foods. And even a bit of routine is nice, too.

Madrid, Day 3
We left Barcelona fairly early this morning and arrived in Madrid by lunch time. However, we ran into a snag. Our hotel only had reservations for one person, even as my friend produced documentation that proves she paid for two people in one room. We ended up paying an additional €20 to have me included.
After that, we had lunch and napped in our hotel. Then, we got up to have dinner and walked to Parque Del Retiro and down Gran Via.

Barcelona, Day 2
Since my friend has been to Barcelona, only my sister and I took a hop-on / hop-off bus tour around town. If any of my readers is interested, I would highly recommend this way of travel, especially in such a busy city as Barcelona. We went with Barcelona Bus Turistic and out of the three lines they offered, we rode two -- the blue and the red line. €24 (we got a discount through our hotel) included earphones for the audio tour and a ticket coupon book. Each line took about 2 hours and we saw pretty much the whole city. We only stopped at Parc Guell, which is designed by Antoni Gaudi who is a famous architect in the late 1800s. His work, however, is evident throughout the city, especially at the amazing Sagrada Familia Cathedral, which is perpetually under construction.
