To the Left, to the Left...

I've always admired ambidextrous people. My father was born left-handed, but was forced to write with his right hand, so now he's capable of using both hands for all sorts of tasks.

Me? Not so much. Just look at the nail polish on my right hand, for instance. I may as well have used a paint roller to slather on the polish. There's nothing my right hand can't do that my left hand can and my right hand can do probably three times as much stuff. I went to a Mary Kay Party recently and while the other girls were able to put cream on their faces with both hands, I have to use just my right. My brain cannot coordinate my left hand to cross over to my right side. Up until now, my left hand has mainly been there to support the right hand.

Today I discovered something my right hand can't do! Lather on moisturizer on my legs. I usually hold the bottle in my right hand and squeeze a dab of lotion into my right hand to lather on my legs. However, I had a Band-Aid on my left index finger and because I didn't want to soil it with moisturizer, I used my right hand to apply lotion on both my legs. It took me almost two minutes longer (estimate) to complete this task! I finally managed, but how odd it felt.

I'm reminded that even the best of us have some things that we require others to do. How times have changed since my dad was a little boy when south paws were deemed devil's children.

"We have different gifts, according to the grace given us." (Romans 12:6)

that's soo weird cause that day i was a b-ball practice and i noticed that i kept dribbling with my right hand, apparently my coach noticed too she told me to switch hands. and i felt so odd doing that. now i'm trying to exercise my arms evenly. my left is much weaker, which isn't great....
