Sick as a Dog

During my time off (Christmas Break, Spring Break, Summer Break), viruses rarely forget to pay me a visit. It looks like I'm ushering in the new year with wheezing coughs and a stuffy nose.

Actually it's not as bad as it sometimes feels. I can still assemble my newly bought bookshelves from IKEA and I get to catch up on my reading. Currently, I'm reading More Than a Skeleton by Paul L. Maier. So far, it's very exciting -- a new archaeological discovery, a court trial, and a computer virus, all having to do with prophecies of Christ's second coming -- and I'm only on Chapter 4.

Along with my sickness come nightmares and weird dreams. I've always been interested in trying to understand what my dreams tell me about my life and subconscious thoughts, but usually when I'm sick, I give up trying to figure out how jelly beans filling up my bathtub or stuffing my freezer with free gifts from my high school friends or watching my sister bounce up high into the sky relate to my waking life.

I hope this virus could be fought off before this coming New Year's Eve as it will be one of the rare chances I get to see some of my great friends in Richmond. Because I still haven't been able to find a doctor, I hope drinking orange juice, taking Tylenol Cold pills, and sleeping will help me get back on my feet again.
