ROYGBIV

I saw a rainbow on my way home from work today. It cheered me because it reminds me of God's covenant to us. It also cheered me because a few minutes before I saw the rainbow, I was nearly T-boned by a driver who seemed to have forgotten that a red stop sign is not just roadside decoration to be ignored like Christmas lights in the middle of April. Thank God for ABS brakes and the gap between the two cars to my left as I swerved to avoid getting hit. The rainbow reminded me how blessed I am to stay alive to see such a majestic phenomenon across the dark sky.

But, back to God's promise to Noah:
12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."
~~ Genesis 9:12-16 NIV

When I looked for a photo of a rainbow to post I found this:

Such beauty amidst destruction. I found this photo to be quite symbolic of God in many ways, but one way is that it displays God's power and love simultaneously. A loving God is not weak, but a powerful God is not without mercy.

I love the rainbow. How it became a symbol to represent a non-Christian group is ironic to me, but I'd rather not discuss it. Yet. For now, I'll just enjoy the simple joy of seeing a rainbow in Mission.

Oh Sister Angela...Don't you know that Roy G. Biv is the guy who first discovered the rainbow? ;)

Tree: I finally got a chance to update myself on your blogging. WOW! Was I ever behind! So here goes my mass-commenting.
-why do you have to puke on a fish?
-did you name 'your bear'? You should call it Pokey.
-Grade 9's a pain? Nah!! Who would've given you that idea! =)
-CONGRATS on your full-time position!
-I didn't know they were looking for a transponster in Mission! Good thing T didn't apply for that job.
-I also love Mac/PC commercials.

We really miss you too, but we're glad that you're settling into a church and a CARE group. (isn't it appropriate that she thought our CELL group was a bunch of delinquents)

Take care!! Can't wait to see you guys again! (oh...Hi D...) =)
