What's Important

My grandma was admitted into the hospital on Thursday while I was buying flowers from Costco to put on the church pew. While I was figuring out what colour ribbon goes best with white freesias, my grandmother lay on the hospital waiting room floor writhing in pain.

God has particular ways of putting things into perspective for me.

Thankfully, my grandmother is set to leave Monday morning. I saw her again today after church service and she has a much better disposition and looked lovely. Two CT scans could not detect exactly what had happened in her intestines, some blockage of a sort, but she's ok now. She had enough strength and energy to joke around with me and tease my fiance.

Since starting my wedding planning:
- my father has been admitted twice into the hospital, once for heart problems and once for eye surgery
- my grandmother is in hospital as you now know
- one of my bridesmaids fell down the stairs on the ferry and is black 'n' blue in some places, plus she fractured her radius, so she has to wear a sling for six weeks (I have to make sure that she doesn't strain herself on W-day which is in four weeks)

I'm glad that despite the health issues they're facing, they are all in good spirits and enjoying life. After all, isn't that what's most important?

Now I have some anxiety (not very much though, thankfully) that something worse will happen to someone close to me before the wedding date. I hope God doesn't have to "remind" me anymore of the more important details in life.
